We are Cycle Ayrshire, part of Cycling UK and are Ayrshire's largest cycling club with a well established, all-year programme of rides varying from 15 to 75 miles.

With the emphasis on sociable leisure cycling we are always glad to welcome new faces on our rides - and you don't have to sign-up immediately.

You can participate in up to 3 rides after which, due to insurance requirements, we would expect you to join Cycling UK if you wished to continue riding with us.

This should be enough to allow you to sample the range of rides to find the one that suits your cycling aspirations - and ability.

Ride Leaders Meeting 2018

Monday 12th. November at 8.00 pm

Royal Air Force Association Club
10 Ardayre Road, Prestwick
KA9 1QL

Without volunteer ride leaders, we would not be able to provide such a varied programme of routes throughout the year.
For that, we need a pool of people willing to lead rides.
This can either be along routes they themselves have created, or can be one of the routes we have previously done and have provided details for in our Routes Catalogue.

Choosing from the Routes Catalogue means new volunteer leaders do not have to worry about creating and researching an interesting route.
Simply choose one from our existing catalogue and concentrate on the Leading rather than the creating!

We are always looking to recruit new leaders so, if you would like more information, come along to the Leader's Night in the RAFA club, Prestwick.

Please note - You MUST be a current Cycling UK member to be a Ride Leader.

Current Leaders and Ride Co-ordinators will be there to share ideas, explain what is involved in leading a ride (details of which can be read in advance ) and take your offers of rides for next year's programme.

So get your thinking caps on now, get your ideas prepared for the meeting, then come along to help the Ride Co-ordinators fill up the ride programme.

If you plan on attending, we would appreciate it if you would email us to let us know in advance, so that we know how many to expect at the meeting.
Alternatively, talk to any committee member on one of our rides.

If you wish to volunteer to lead a ride but cannot attend the Leaders´ Meeting, contact our Ride co-ordinators with your idea(s) by using our Contact Form and choosing the General Enquiries option.
The relevant Ride co-ordinator will then contact you to discuss your idea(s) and provide any additional details about what is involved in being a Ride Leader.

Cycling quote of the day:

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
