Over the years, as our Runs Programme has expanded, we have tried to group rides into certain named categories which would give an idea of what to expect on each type of ride.
This has proven to be more difficult than expected.
For example, the term "Easy Going" is very much a relative one.
25 miles may be easy for some but not so for others!
Nevertheless, click on any of the buttons below to get a generic description of the various ride categories mentioned throughout this site.

Bike Maintenance workshops
Our Bike Maintenance workshops are available on a one-to-one basis from course leaders Dave Lawrie and Walter Watson.
For a donation to club funds of £10 (Cycling UK members) or £13 (Non-Cycling UK members), you can book either training session.
You would travel to the trainer, with your bike, for the workshop.
Fix Your Own Bike workshop
Covers the basics of brake adjustments, inner tube replacement, puncture repair, pre-ride checks and advice on which items to carry when on a bike ride.
Gears Without Tears workshop
Covers slightly more complicated jobs such as brake pad replacement, gear adjustments, chain replacement and advice on how to recognise worn chains, chainrings, etc.
You can tackle the workshops in any order you feel comfortable with.
Even if you have previously attended one of our workshops, you can book a refresher course if you so choose.
To book a one-to-one workshop via email, use the Contact link on the website.
Provide your name and a contact email address.
In the Subject field, choose Maintenance.
In the Message field, please provide a contact telephone number and tell us which of the workshops you are interested in.
A trainer will contact you within a few days to arrange the time/place of the workshop and will provide details of what you are expected to
bring to the workshop.
Alternatively, contact Dave Lawrie by phone on 01294 213315 to arrange a session.
