We are Cycle Ayrshire, part of Cycling UK and are Ayrshire's largest cycling club with a well established, all-year programme of rides varying from 15 to 75 miles.

With the emphasis on sociable leisure cycling we are always glad to welcome new faces on our rides - and you don't have to sign-up immediately.

You can participate in up to 3 rides after which, due to insurance requirements, we would expect you to join Cycling UK if you wished to continue riding with us.

This should be enough to allow you to sample the range of rides to find the one that suits your cycling aspirations - and ability.

Cycling just for women!

Cycle Ayrshire ladies invite women of all ages and abilities to join a relaxed bike challenge where you choose your own goal. It may be completing your first 10 miles, tackling a 100km (6 laps) or anything in between.

We chose the Isle of Cumbrae as it is flat, route finding is simple (keep the sea to one side), toilets and cafes are easy to find and if there are mechanical problems our team can speed to your assistance. It’s cycle friendly with fine views of the Firth of Clyde and the ferry from Largs runs every 15 minutes, takes 10 minutes and a return ticket costs £3.40.

You can ride as part of a led or informal group or go solo. We’ll give you a card to record your circuits and a certificate when you finish.
You can finish and collect your certificate after any circuit so long as your ride is completed by 4.30.
The event base offers free coffee and biscuits, space to chat, Dr Bike checks, BikeRegister security listing (11am-2pm) and an opportunity to find out about electric bikes and funding available for them (11.30am-2.30pm).

Open to 50 women from beginners to proficient riders.
Bring your own bike, hire one on the island or use Abellio Bike & Go at Largs Station.
